Citizenship exam

Finally we got our notice to take a citizenship exam on August 1, 2013.  We receive the letter about two weeks before out exam date.  The exam was compose of 20 questions and you need 15 or 75% to pass the exam.  After the exam we need to wait for a short interview with one of the Citizenship officer.

Right now we are still waiting for the oath taking ceremony.

Update about our Canadian Citizenship status

Its been exactly a year today since we submitted our application for Canadian Citizenship.  So far the only information that we have was that our application was processed on December of 2012.  My speculation about the delays was that Canada Immigration Services are checking thoroughly for each individual who applied for Canadian Citizenship because there have been reports of a lot of Permanent Residents that falsified their information about the number of days that they have been in Canada.

My advice to those who are eligible, apply as soon as possible because the longer you wait to apply the bigger the chance that you might renew you PR Card.

To those who are soon be eligible for applying Canadian Citizenship is that make sure that you prepare all the necessary supporting papers that you need, so that by the time you are here in Canada for 1095 days you can submit it right away.

Ito ang mga importanting papers na dapat e-tago pag dating sa canada: (as of Feb. 20, 2012)

-Confirmation of Permanent Residence
-Birth Certificate (english version) for applicant that are under 18 by the time mag apply nang citizenship
-Kung kayo ay may adopted son/daughter dapat may paper works din kayo for that and dapat english

Part 2: Pag-aaral sa Canada (College)

Requirements for BS Course/Program:

• Math 12
• English 12
• Physics 11

Ito po ay mga common requirements kung gusto mong mag aral sa College or University.

• Paano kung wala ako nito? 
• May 3 choices akong naisip noon. 
1. Ipa evaluate ang mga documents
2. Mag-aral ulit sa mga subject na ito
3. Mag challenge exam sa mga subjects na ito

Kapag ready na ang requirements time to enroll na and pay the tuition in "FULL".

• Yup! Kailangan mo munang bayaran tuition mo bago ka ma register sa Course/Program
• Paano kung wala akong pera pang bayad?
• Kung dito ka sa British Columbia merong Student Financial Services for short STUDENT LOAN. Student Aid BC 
• Magkano naman ibibigay na loan?
• Dipindi kung magkano ang kailangan mo at status mo dito sa Canada.
• Malaki sweldo sa work = pwedeng approved but kunti lang binigay na loan OR DENIED!
• Walang trabaho or maliit sweldo = Approved at malaki yung e bibigay na loan
• Babala: Noong nag apply ako nang student loan sinabi ko na wala akong income sa pinas, wala akong savings, at wala akong trabaho.  Na deny ako kasi akala nila na nagsisinungaling ako but nag apply ako nang petition at with supporting papers na totoo talaga na wala akong trabaho at savings sa pinas kaya at the end na approved yung student loan ko.
• Kailan ako mag babayad sa student loan ko?
• After 6 months na di ka na nag aaral mag uumpisa kanang magbayad.
• Magkano naman babayaran ko per month?
• Dipindi kung mag kano ang kaya mong bayaran.

Sa mga kabayan natin na dito sa Vancouver BC gustong mag settle ito ang mga listahan nang mga Colleges at Universities:

• British Columbia Institute of Technology 
• Vancouver Community College 
• Simon Fraser University 
• University of British Columbia
• Capilano University

Ito po yung alam ko na mga Colleges and Universities.

Part 1:Pag-aaral sa Canada (Elementary at High School)

Ngayon ko lang po na notice na wala po pala akong information about continuing studies dito sa Canada so ito na po.

Elementary and High school (hanggang grade 12 or 4th yr HS + 2 yrs)

"PUBLIC SCHOOL"

• Libre at walang bayad (kasama na ang books)
• locker lang ang babayaran ($10+)

"Catholic School"

• hindi ako sure kung may bayad :))
• pero sigurado ako na may community service ang mga parents

What to expect:

• Class hours 9am-3pm (sana ganyan class ko noon sa pinas)
• May handouts (wala ng kokopyahin sa board lahat nasa handouts na = tamad)
• Kompleto sa gamit (ready na lahat kapag may activity at wala nang mag aasign kung sino mag dadala nang gamit or ingredients)

Dito mas maganda ang public school compare sa private school (in my own opinion)
